Task: Set up a robotics and automation laboratory at Panevėžys College of Applied Sciences

Panevėžys College of Applied Sciences, using European Union fund investments, has acquired advanced laboratory equipment for studies in electrical engineering, automation, electrotechnics, engineering systems, and renewable energy sources. This project includes a complex of various industrial robots, allowing students to learn to work with robotics and automation equipment and to master Industry 4.0+ principles.

The system is designed so that different robotic systems can work together, integrating them into a single unified system. It consists of several distinct zones, each performing a specific function:

  • Conveyor system  designed to transport various objects into and out of the DELTA robot’s work area. Above it, a Cognex vision recognition system is used for object identification and localization.
  • DELTA robot zone designed to manipulate objects between the work table and conveyors.
  • UR robot table the robot is mounted on a mobile structure, which can be moved or positioned next to conveyors to perform various tasks there, or used in another location for different operations.
  • KUKA KR 4 Agilus  designed to perform individual tasks unrelated to conveyor systems and focused on industrial robot programming training.

Benefits and Applications: This innovative equipment allows students at Panevėžys College of Applied Sciences to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, preparing them for hands-on work with high-end industrial technology. The project’s infrastructure enhances the quality of education and provides new opportunities for both lecturers and students, opening broader perspectives for research and experimental activities.
